This set of kata is made up of five techniques with the tachi and three using the kodachi. The techniques are solemn and powerful, but seem to flow, being \u2018soft\u2019 on the outside and \u2018hard\u2019 at the core. The Tokyo Higher Normal School later became the Tokyo University of Education, and is now the University of Tsukuba.
